Functionality of an electric SUP board

Together, these ensure that you are supported while pedalling and can be compared to an electric bike. There is also a difference between different types of batteries and motors. There are powerful motors that can propel you forward on their own, while others only offer a supporting function.

Don't want to inflate your SUP board manually anymore? Then an electric SUP with built-in compressor can be the solution. You roll out your board and attach the pump hose to the compressor in the board. Then, the board will inflate itself and you don't have to do anything anymore. A SUP pump is therefore no longer necessary.

There are also SUP boards with built-in LED lighting. Often, this is an extra and it's not necessary to equip your board with lighting. Still, it can be very cool when you go on holiday to an area with clear blue water. With the lights on your board, you can look better under water and see the fish swimming underneath you.

There are plenty of reasons why electric SUP boards could be a good choice for surfers. However, the choice for a SUP board is entirely up to you. Disadvantages

• They are heavier due to the built-in compressor, battery and motor.

Maintenance of electric SUP boards

As with All other SUP boards are maintenance of an e-SUP is also very important. Before and after use, you should carry out normal maintenance, such as completely deflating the board and allowing it to dry properly.

Of course, you have to take the SUP's battery into account. Should you not use the board for a while? Then make sure you still charge the battery from time to time, to prevent it from breaking down. Keep in mind that you should disconnect the battery at 100% to prevent loss of power and capacity.
